Hi all,

As planned in the OCS Inventory roadmap, we started to integrate SNMP to enhance Ipdiscover datas. SNMP scans will be made by agent using adresses found by IPDISCOVER.
So, we will be able to have more informations than IPDISCOVER using SNMP communities.

To make the SNMP informations easier to consult, and idea is to integrate the peripherals discovered by SNMP in the common inventory. So we could see this periphereals at the same place than the computers inventoried using agents and we could make multicriterias search on it.

The risk is to create a confusion between computers inventoried using agents and peripherals discovered using SNMP. Indeed, peripherals discored using SNMP doesn't have agents and for example, it will not be able to deploy packages on it.

The question is how to integrate this peripherals in the inventory without create a confusion. Ocsreports could make a big parts of this job and what are your ideas to make it clear for users ? Special icons for discovered perihperals ? Special colors lines in the main table ? Special inventory page with specials colors or only a small number of icons ?

All your ideas are welcome.

Kind regards,
