Dear Developers,
Implementation of "Remote management interfaces" under Linux is almost
finished.
But, I just managed to get IP Address of "Management Processor" or MP of
HP Integrity servers running HP-UX!
I am using the following:
/opt/hpsmh/data/htdocs/comppage/getMPInfo.cgi
/opt/sfm/bin/CIMUtil -e root/cimv2 HP_ManagementProcessor
Does anyone know anything to help get more information?
I want to support Sun Solaris too. Can anyone run some tests on a Sun
Solaris machines for me?
Kind regards,
Amir Pakdel

Dear Guillaume,
I hope, in Windows, it is as easy as in Linux; because there are similar
utilities on Windows and Linux for HP servers. It is easy for Sun
servers too, but at the moment I have no Sun server to test it. On the
other hand, on HP Integrity servers that run HP-UX it is difficult to
some extent! I have not succeeded in getting Netmask/Gateway in the
shell (yet).
Currently I am working on it.
Oh, by the way, my previous commits are not tested yet?
Kind Regards,
Amir

Post by Guillaume PROTETHi all,
Amir, what is your idea about getting this special IP and discern from other "standard" network interfaces ?
How do you want to do with Unix agent and Windows Agent ? Does this kind of information is easy to get under Windows because there are admins that install Windows on their servers and it could be interesting for them too ;) ;).
Kind regards,

Since each server normally has one management interface IP address
associated with it, it can either be aaded to hardware table or it can
be added as a network interface with a predefined "Description" such
as "Management Interface".
Are you thinking to add a distinction between the interface address
for the management system vs one that could be related to the services
on the system?
I think it's a great idea, as I have been known to have lost track of
which DRAC IP is associated with which server (Dell) . How are you
thinking to query the addresses of the management interface?

Is there a compatibility problem?

Dear developers,
As you know most of the servers have some kind of Lights Out or Remote
Management thing which is normally a single board computer; like iLO
of HP Proliant server or SC of Sun servers or MP of HP Integrity
servers.
It would be really handy to have information of these things in the
Inventory, specially the IP address of network interface.
May I add the IP address of network interface of MP of HP Integrity
servers as a network interface into the server?
Kind Regards,
Amir
